Fall is my favorite season, and I’m so excited to start this fall series! What’s not to love about big sweaters, cozy candles, crunchy leaves and pumpkin spice everything? These are the things that always get me into the fall spirit (besides chilly days and colorful leaves of course).
Get a fall drink- As soon as Starbucks releases their pumpkin spice lattes I am always the first one in line. Pumpkin spice just makes me feel like fall has really begun (whether the weather wants to agree or not). I also love a good fall cocktail. My favorite is so simple, yet so tasty.
Light up some fall candles- Fall scents are my favorite scents. I’m never crazy about the spring or summer ones, and I don’t care for florals, so when the fall ones come out I always get super excited. My favorite ones are from Bath and Body Works, I like to take advantage of the 2 for $24 sales. For candles on a budget, I love going to Home Goods and TJ Maxx where candles average about $8. My favorite fall scents this year are Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Cider Lane, and Sweater Weather. I also love putting those candles in a pretty holder that sparkles when its lit up. Home Goods and TJ Maxx are definitely the best place to buy those.
Get outside- Nothing helps the fall spirit like going on a leaf walk and admiring the changing leaves while wearing your favorite sweater. Pro tip: make it a date! Pick up your favorite leaves and iron the between layers of wav paper to preserve them. It makes a fun scrapbook throughout the years!
Enjoy a good book by a cozy fire- I love our current place because we have a gas fireplace that is so nice to cozy up to. I open all the windows and cozy up with a blanket. If you don’t have a fireplace, you can always play one on YouTube or Netflix! My favorite types of books to read in the fall are mysteries, but this fall I have been re-reading the Harry Potter series.
Take a weekend getaway to a small town- Every year since I was a baby, my family has gone up to Door County, WI. This is hands down my favorite place in the world, but it is especially magical in the fall. It always smells like burning leaves, the stores are so cute and the towns never change. I will be blogging about this trip later in October!
Decorate your house for fall- Adding cozy textures like faux fur pillows and soft throw blankets always make me feel cozy and at home. Adding in warmer colors also sets the mood! I have been loving a blush and berry color scheme this year. I will be posting all about my fall decor next week.
