I have been sick on and off for the last few weeks. In fact, it feels like everyone I have talked to is battling a cold right now. Unfortunately for me, this has meant several sick days were taken and a lot of Kleenex. On the bright side, I have found a few things that make me feel better when I feel icky.
Movies and Netflix. Some of my absolute favorites are You’ve got Mail, Pretty Woman, and Mean Girls. It’s a good variety of story-lines. I love putting in one of these classics, cuddling up with my favorite blanket, and a good cup of something!
Cute Pajamas. I love a good pair of pj’s. In my opinion, one of the best parts about staying home is the option of being in them all day. I have been loving my favorite set from Victoria’s Secret. They are really fun and girly, which helps me feel like my fabulous self even when I’m feeling gross. I pair them with some fuzzy socks and a warm, pink robe.
Candles. Even when my sense of smell is momentarily gone, I find something so cozy about lighting some candles. I usually prefer three wick ones, but seeing as how I can’t smell, I just let my hubby pick his favorites.
Pampering. I am a huge fan of Lush products (I am planning on posting my skincare routine soon!). They are cruelty-free, smell amazing, and are awesome for your skin. What more could you ask for? When I take a bath, I always reach for a Bath Bomb (Butterball, Twilight, and Avobath are my favs!) with a complimenting bubble bar (A French Kiss and Rose Jam Bubbleroon smell heavenly). While taking a bath, I also love to use one of Lush’s Fresh Face Masks. I have super dry skin, so I use Oatifix which is very moisturizing. I finish off the pampering with some almond body butter from The Body Shop.
A warm beverage. I avoid coffee when I’m sick. It’s not really necessary as I need to rest, not stay awake. I also try to stay away from caffeinated tea for the same reason. I mainly stick to herbal tea, while under the weather. My absolute favorite of all time is Caramel Almond Amoretti from Teavana. It pretty much tastes like it sounds, and it turns out to be this bright pink color when it’s done steeping. I LOVE it. I make it in my tumbler from Teavana, which keeps it hot for hours.
Rest. I know it sounds so common, but lots of rest is truly the best way to feel better when you are sick. Don’t force yourself to go to work or run a bunch of errands. Trust me, you will be a much more productive person if you allow yourself time to get better. I like to surround myself with fluffy pillows and comfy blankets. I also shut the curtains so I can get some good rest.
Hope you found these tips, fun and helpful!
